Pulmonology

Pen Bay Pulmonology treats disorders of the lung including chronic diseases such as emphysema and asthma, diseases caused by exposure to toxic substances, sleep disorders, chronic cough relief, interventional pulmonology and acute pulmonary problems such as pneumonia. Services include respiratory screenings, treatments, therapies and self-management education.

Sleep Disorder Services

Comprehensive sleep testing is available in the home or at Waldo County General Hospital in a home-like environment. A sleep study helps to diagnose sleep disorders that may be causing disruptions in sleep and fatigue as well as other health concerns.

Pen Bay Medical Center Welcomes Students from Maine Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine

Pen Bay Medical Center is pleased to welcome Julia Hutchings-Sakaue and Chanya Elkins, third-year medical students enrolled in the Maine Track program of Tufts University School of Medicine. They will spend the next nine months rotating through the departments of Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Surgery and Family Medicine, among others.

State EMS Director Wil O’Neal, Maine Emergency Services Director, will formally recognize Pen Bay Medical Center as a Pediatric Innovator during a ceremony in front of the hospital’s emergency department entrance on Tuesday, May 7, at 11 am. This event is free and open to the public.
