Healing Power of Art

The Pen Bay Waldo Art Committee strives to create healing and positive environments at our hospitals. Art helps to enhance the experience for our patients, families, visitors and care team members.

Calling all Artists!

We had a wonderful response to our 2024-2025 Call for Artists, and we are excited to announce that 29 local artists have been selected to have their art displayed at Pen Bay or Waldo. The first set of exhibits went up at Waldo the week of May 6. Exhibits will be up for twelve weeks and will run through June 2025.

Thanks to our Donors

Donors have brought light-filled, uplifting works by Maine artists into many departments and spaces at Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital. Pen Bay’s cancer care center, medical surgical unit, surgical services, Charlotte and Christopher Beebe Health Center and Women’s Health are just a few of the spaces that have been transformed by new pieces of art. Some local artists who we have worked with to promote the healing power of art are:

  • Louise Bourne
  • Eric Hopkins
  • Jill Hoy
  • Judy Taylor
  • Joyce Tenneson
  • Jennifer Van Cor
